Dr. Greg Huffman

Dr. Greg Huffman was born in Richland Center, Wisconsin, and raised by godly parents in Rockford, Illinois. He is a graduate of Tennessee Temple University with a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Temple Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts in Religious Education. He also earned a Master of Arts degree in Biblical Counseling from Liberty Baptist Seminary and a Doctorate of Ministry degree from Bob Jones University.

Dr. Huffman served the Lord as an assistant pastor for two years before starting a church plant in Albany, Georgia. He later served as senior pastor of Gilead Baptist Church and president of Gilead Christian Academy for fourteen and a half years. In addition, he served as president of the Georgia Association of Christian Schools for sixteen years and as a member of the American Association of Christian Schools Board of Directors for six years. Over the years, the Lord also allowed him to minister in Roanoke, Virginia; serve as president of Pillsbury Baptist Bible College during its final year; minister as Counseling Pastor of Brookside Baptist Church in Brookfield, Wisconsin; and presently serve alongside his son, David, at One Hope Church, a church plant in Acworth, Georgia.

Dr. Huffman’s late wife, Ruth, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Tennessee Temple University and was pursuing a master’s degree in Biblical Counseling. She faithfully served as a pastor’s wife, homemaker, and teacher. Together, they enjoyed opportunities to speak at Christian camps and colleges and minister alongside missionaries and national pastors on foreign mission fields.

Dr. Huffman and Ruth served the Lord together for more than fifty-two years before her passing in 2021. The Lord blessed them with three sons, all of whom trusted Christ at an early age and dedicated their lives to full-time Christian service. Steven serves as Assistant Pastor of Morningside Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina. Jonathan serves as a Life Pastor in Austin, Texas. David served for twenty years as a missionary in São Paulo, Brazil, and is now involved in church planting in Acworth, Georgia. Each son faithfully serves the Lord alongside his wife. The family has also been blessed with ten grandchildren.

Dr. Huffman and Ruth were married for 641 months, believing that celebrating each month together helped keep their marriage sweet—a practice they gladly recommended to other married couples.
